Marbella: The jewel of the Costa del Sol by its own merits

THE QUALITY
of life

Its name crosses borders. And even English tourists have adopted the term Marbs to name the most famous city on the Costa del Sol: Marbella.

Recently chosen as the most exclusive municipality of the Costa del Sol, the city is used to shine. Its climate, far from extreme values and with an average temperature of 19 degrees a year, is one of its main attractions.

The city is also an example of multiculturalism. Almost 25% of its population is foreign, which is reflected in the cosmopolitan atmosphere that you can feel every corner of the city.

The most curious thing about Marbella is that it combines to perfection areas that gather the most representative of the Andalusian culture, its traditions, the narrow streets of the old town, its bars of yesteryear with another facet whose most representative area is the Golden Mile and Puerto Banus, where luxurious yachts, exclusive boutiques and international restaurants are all over around.

The municipality also has countless housing developments with villas or mansions of high standing, exclusives beach clubs and nightclubs where play the most prestigious DJs.

In Marbella enjoy both those who have a drink in front of the Faro beach (a classic for the locals) and those who book a table in five-star restaurants, a Michelin star or book a box at the famous Starlite festival, which has already become a benchmark of the international music scene.

A city where those who were born here, those who like to call themselves “marbelleros”, those who have been living in the city for decades, “marbellíes” and those who have simply adopted the municipality as their second home, live together and mixed  up.

Marbelleros will tell you that their city is the one of the small fishing port, the Pilgrimage of San Bernabé or the one of the beautiful cristian Holy Week. And they are right.

But it is a vision that has remained incomplete. And perhaps that is why this old fishing village fascinates everyone today. Because here you can find everything you are looking for, no matter what.

If you opt for the more traditional side of the municipality and you want to know how the locals live, you should not miss to have a few churros with chocolate in any neighborhood cafe, walk from the center to Puerto Banus, round trip, along its promenade of marble and sand (favorite sport of the people of Marbella) or participate in some of the traditional moragas on the beach, where the sardines on skewer are the real protagonists.

For a gastronomic experience of author Marbella also has a lot to choose from. An example of this is Boho Club Restaurant, a restaurant located on Marbella’s Golden Mile, which has made the city’s concept of integration its own, offering gourmet spaces for all tastes. The exclusivity of its atmosphere gets along very well with a close service that makes you feel at home. A concept of luxury friendly and relaxed  framed within the facilities of the prestigious Boho Club resort.

Marbella and its historic
center

Strolling through the historic center of Marbella is another of the luxuries that every tourist should allow himself. Its narrow streets are full of charm and they will lead you to places that represent the living history of the city. An example of this is the Alcazaba Castle dating from the ninth century, the imposing Church of the Incarnation whose construction began in 1505, or the popular Plaza de los Naranjos, where you will also find the renaissance-style Town Hall building.
Moreover, throughout the year, especially during the summer season, it is not uncommon to run into international celebrities of cinema or politics, who seek in Marbella a well-deserved rest without giving up the tranquility.

Marbella is also nature

The Alameda promenade, the Avenida del Mar, the Artola Dunes and the Nagüeles Park are other places that worth a visit if you are looking for a relaxing time or contact with nature.

Marbella is also, thanks to its exceptional climate, a great place to have picnics and enjoy its natural environment. A totally different gourmet picnic experience can be found at Boho Club. You can enjoy a very special day in a bohemian space created for you in its gardens, which have wonderful views of the Concha mountain.

By land, sea or air Marbella is a luxury city that has a lot to offer and where you will enjoy an elegant and unforgettable vacation.
