Literary Picnic
On Sunday, May 14th, Boho Club became the setting for a dreamlike literary gathering organized in collaboration with the Madrid bookstore, Amapolas en Octubre. This event marks the birth of a new cultural concept aimed at creating a memorable experience for literature enthusiasts in the city of Marbella. The picnic took place in the lush greens of our gardens with a backdrop of the unparalleled views of La Concha mountain. Attendees had the opportunity to witness a captivating talk by our guest speakers, Laura Riñón, author and founder of Amapolas en Octubre bookstore, as well as Coloma Fernández Armero, renowned author of works such as “Mil dolores pequeños,” “En blanco,” and “Querida Yo.” The event was a resounding success, with a sold out crowd that demonstrated the attendees’ passion for the written word.
Boho Club welcomed the participants to this first gastro-cultural event with a picnic-style brunch buffet and a relaxed meet and greet where the authors and attendees shared literature-related experiences. Later on, Laura and Coloma mesmerized the audience with their conversation, exchanging experiences, anecdotes, advice, and reflections on their journeys as authors. These two writers, recognized for their talent and trajectory in the literary world, shared their thoughts in an interactive discussion, recounting anecdotes related to their respective works. The audience was enthusiastic and engaged, asking questions and fostering an enriching discourse. The connection between the authors and the attendees was palpable, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie fostered by the love of writing. The event counted with the collaboration of the reference bookshop in Marbella DeLibros.
Coloma Fernández Armero expressed her admiration for the exquisite organization of the event, stating, “When the special and delicate ambiance of Boho Club merges with the words spoken during the talk, the combination is unique.” Her statement reflects the magical atmosphere witnessed during this first gathering at Boho Club, where literature came to life in an unparalleled way.
Laura Riñón, on the other hand, emphasized the importance of celebrating literature in an idyllic setting like Boho Club, stating, “Being a host at Boho Club is as close as it gets to living in a novel. Writers and readers are fortunate; literary gatherings are in vogue.” Her words echoed the sentiments shared by all present, who recognized the significance of these events in creating unique initiatives and fostering a passion for reading and writing in the city of Marbella.
This gastro-cultural experience, held at Boho Club, has undoubtedly become one of many future events related to the world of literature, which is a cornerstone of Boho Club’s artistic philosophy. The incredible attendance highlights the community’s interest as well as the importance placed on literature, complemented by the statements made by Laura Riñón and Coloma Fernández Armero, which emphasizes the magic and significance of celebrating this art form in such an idyllic venue like Boho Club.
